Tails of small Corsa's
A blog detailing the season of the little 1A Corsa and all who sail in it......
Curborough : In typical style we had to borrow equipment from competitiors from Event 1. A lack of white backing for the new car for it's numbers the issue. Two new competitors, much better prepared then us lend us the white sheets. I add it to the list of things I really should have but marvel at the my still shiny new tool kit. The drive up from London went fine and at least the car doesn't have any dents in it so it's a good start. Aaron goes out first to give the new car it's first taste of action with a sighter lap. All goes well and he hands over to Irfan who puts in his first time in the new car. 2nd practise comes and goes and were in to the main event. No blue smoke from the old engine (which came out of the 3A car) and nothing has fallen off so we declare practise a success. 1st timed run of the day/season. Irfan is looking to capitalise in the new car on road tyres which should suit his cleaner driving style (note excuse for later in the season). However Aaron stays ahead by just over 1 second, a 78 for Aaron, 79 for Irfan. 2nd runs and both drivers improve 75.77 for Aaron and a 76.95 for Irfan, but it gives Aaron the first spoils of the new season. Not only that but he manages to drive the Corsa all the way home. A successful first outing in Road-Going class.
