Loton Park - Competitors Course Guide

This blog is to allow competitors to share hints and tips for beginners for the Loton Park venue, everything from parking, arriving, to course driving tips (subjective of course!)

I haven`t been to many

I haven`t been to many competitions in my lifeitime. There have just been a few and I enjoyed them bigtime. I recall I once went out there to talk to one of the drivers and ask him how much had he invested in all the car equipment and how much has he trained for the contest. He looked at me as if I was some kind of reporter and I assured him I was a common man, passionate on this topic, and that I may consider start doing this one day, just for the fun of it. I told him I found this Plymouth MA Honda dealership on the internet and that I was interested. I only wanted his experienced opinion on it. He said it`s not worth it to invest so much money, just for fun, unless you attend some competitions as well.

nice topic

The paddock is spread out from single seaters which are located on the bottom right, small tin tops in the middle with the kit car classes off to the left. Loton Park is very technical, and as such to learn the place it makes sense to split the course into sections as per the timing. dual saw So typically concentrate on learning the Start to Triangle first, then Triangle through to Fallow, then finally Museum.

I am very thankful to you for

I am very thankful to you for this topic for discussion. I have been trying to find info on this for weeks and literally NONE of the major media outlets seem to have the simple foresight to follow up on these major stories. Loton Park is a very well-known place and to read about it is pure pleasure to me. I found an article on files http://byfiles.com search which I considered to be related to the whole issue, but still it didn't meet my demands. Thank you for your detailed follow up, I've bookmarked your blog!

Loton Park Basics - Arriving / Course / Spectators

Firstly the turning into Loton Park off the main road arrives suddenly so keep a close eye on it, particularly if towing.  Generally trailers are then placed on the left hand side as you drive in.  The paddock is spread out from single seaters which are located on the bottom right, small tin tops in the middle with the kit car classes off to the left.  Loton Park is very technical, and as such to learn the place it makes sense to split the course into sections as per the timing.  So typically concentrate on learning the Start to Triangle first, then Triangle through to Fallow, then finally Museum.  This breaks the course down into chunks to focus on, and you can check your times are improving over these sections as each one is timed.  Loton Park is a good venue for spectators, it has a bar, 2x catering facilities and numerous good vantage points for spectators, Triangle being the most popular, but also Fallow, Museum and the Start line.  It's has some shelter in the rain but it's not the best so plan accordingly if your bringing spectators with you.
