Broken Corsa's and Stolen Bikes
I have been absent this season as some of you may have noticed, particularly those I 'borrow' tools, shelter, tea and advice from! My little Corsa got neglected over the winter, stuck on my drive, the car cover ripped and I didn't replace it so it sat there in the rain, wind and hail. Bit's of tree covered the bonnet and it got a shade of green. Unsurprisingly when I fired it up, it, well, didn't fire. Because I have a mechanical nous on par with my cat it's still there. At somepoint though the man who built the engine for me, is going to come round and fix it all, but thats requires me to be in. Time is indeed the enemy. I have however decided to return to two wheeled racing. I got an Enduro bike again, Suzuki DRZ 400, got it ready, blasted through commuters to work in London on it and was thoroughly enjoying being back on two wheels. Then some %$^£ nicked it from where I work, 3m bolt cuttters and a drill, some wire cutters to disable the security lights and CCTV, it seems unlikely it was an 'opportunist'. They wore gloves as well, no forensics anywhere. Professional %$*^%'s!. So I now have to get another bike to get out for my first race and my 19 year wait to delibrately get both wheels off the ground again goes on. I have however missed the one with a flat out section leading into a 20ft jump, so maybe it's a blessing in disguise. I've seen on the front page, those that are out are enjoying it as usual, annoyed I missed Goodwood, it's relatively local for me and I've been there before in my old Lancia Beta, 30 odd laps with a load of Delta's flying past, although I'm not sure why Dave is back in a Mini, there's no competition in 1A Dave, your much better staying in 1B :)! Anyway I hope to get out later in the year still, see some of you then.
