I have been absent this season as some of you may have noticed, particularly those I 'borrow' tools, shelter, tea and advice from!  My little Corsa got neglected over the winter, stuck on my drive, the car cover ripped and I didn't replace it so it sat there in the rain, wind and hail.  Bit's of tree covered the bonnet and it got a shade of green.  Unsurprisingly when I fired it up,  it, well, didn't fire.  Because I have a mechanical nous on par with my cat it's still there.  At somepoint though the man who built the engine for me, is going to come round and f

 
I learned to drive in 1980.  I learned to drive in cars that were built in the 1970s.  They had no power steering, and when you pressed the brake pedal, you actually had to put in much of the force that pushed the brake pads against the disks.  Low profile tyres were unheard of and you had to brace yourself when cornering to keep from sliding off the vinyl seats.

I notice that no-one has availed themselves of the blogging facility yet.  Is that because you have nothing to say, or because you can't work out how it works?

I have added a filter mechanism that is intended to protect the blogs and forums from spammers trying to sell us products which shall remain nameless. Quite how sensitive it is to the brand names of certain drugs I'm not sure.
I'm submitting this blog post mainly as a test to make sure that normal posts will get through unmolested.
